Book 11 / Ch. 3 Written / Published 28.10.12 / 1.11.2012
"... the testing of your faith produces patience."
James 1, 3
3. IT can too - back soon
Before continuing the our travel in the USA a slight distraction.
The Gaither night last evening was again a pleasure to attend "... Loving God and loving others, making music with my friends." Singing beautiful songs such as this, or "... and I know, yes I know Jesus' blood can make the vilest sinner clean' touched everyone in the hall. Sad to see churches turn away from such blessed music and lyrics.
On the way home from the Gaither Night last evening, exiting the car park at Shepherd Road, I turned on the radio. The very first words that came out were: "Hello Brian ..."
Popular Peter Goers on Adelaide's ABC 891 local radio was welcoming his guest for that hour, Brian Gilbertson. The gentleman is a popular singer in South Australia, who had been the host of a concert in the Barossa Valley I attended some years ago. Mr. Gilbertson's charming personality had captivated all in the audience.
It was the day after, on October 27, 2012 that Brian's surname captivated my mind. His name and another, which came up in my reading of Our Daily Bread, started a complex train of thought. Forgive me, if it all sounds repetitive, but I promise, it's all true, just as I recorded it into my journal:
Our Daily Bread Oct. 27 ,2012
From my scribbles on that page you can follow my thinking: The name Titanic includes the word IT 2 times. The remaining letters make c a n. This is what unfortunate Mark should have done - rearrange IT 2 CAN into IT CAN TOO >>> sink!
As you can see I also circled the number 16 in above text. Here's why: The night before, during that same interview on ABC radio, the number 16 had come up. At that moment something inside me took notice. This phenomena is dificult to explain rationally. All I can say, the Holy Spirit works in weird and wonderful ways.
After reading the name Wilkinson I remembered the name Gilberton and played the letters elimination game. (The same game which would turn the word christened into christ end).
WILKINSON - GILBERTON = KING BERT W.
... is it this chapter is trying to say? Am I totally crazy, half-crazy or on the wrong side of the border-line with genius?

Could it be that I view my world through a prisma, or coloured glasses, as it were? Am I so fanatically obsessed with codes, numbers etc. that I fail to recognize reality? Am I trying to make sense of what I observe, and the magical timing which often come with it, to be able to make sense of my world?
Atheists and those who deny the supernatural side of the bible may come up with the same argument about Jesus: If Mary just imagined that a stranger visited her and announced what was to happen, she would have viewed it all through this fairytale experience. Here is how the Gospel of Luke tells it:
Any rational thinker, who can't by-pass their square-shaped brain to take seriously, and believe, this most unusual birth, denies the fundamentals of the Christian faith. All further search for truth will be difficult, until this hurdle has been jumped. Truth is not always rational.
If atheists argue that Mary had imagined all this, and 'brainwashed' her child Jesus, telling HIM how special HE is, would it not become a case of a mental illness that was passed from one generation to the next? (God forbid that any believer goes down this path of thinking!)
In the next chapter it says that Mary kept all these things in her heart. We are not told how much she conveyed to her young child, as HE grew up. If we are to assume she told her son at an appropriate age how special HIS birth is, would HE then not forever interpret things as HE saw them, as to make sense of it all?
Anyone thinking like this has forgotten two vital aspects in the life of Jesus. Firstly his miracles. Again, a rational thinker find's it hard to explain what took place and has been documented by eyewitnesses.
The other aspect is the fact that Jesus' birth was foretold up to a thousands* years earlier, by ancient writers: the town of HIS birth, the place he grew up and many more prophesies. (Read on). *Do you find this fact difficult to believe?
Here are some, there are dozens, scriptures which point to that man called Jesus:
In the last example, the writer even gave a specific number. It was fulfilled, when Judas accepted 30 pieces of silver as payment for betraying Jesus.
All the above were fulfilled in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. HE would have been taught all these scriptures as a child. Yes, HE once went into the temple and read scriptures about Himself to senior religious teachers. The child reversed the role and started teaching them. The hearers were amazed, how He displayed such understanding. (Luke 2, 47).
Friends, to really want to find God, through the life of HIS son Jesus, you must start by opening your mind at a different level. Invite the Holy Spirit to enter, just like a child asks his or her Father for food, HE will grant your wish.
It will be your start of a completely new relationship with the one and true God. It all begins with an awareness that you need to repent, acknowledging the years of rejecting HIM. It means to turn away from all wrong done, to make mends, where possible, and to start afresh in all areas of life - just like being born again!
After completing this first step, if done in humility, with total honesty, a joy will flood your heart, one you have never experienced before. Your whole outlook on life, especially your relationship to others will change. You will love everybody. Others will notice.
Taking a step toward God brings only one regret - that you did not do it sooner. There is a scripture where God made a promise: "Draw near to God and HE will draw near to you". (James 4, 8)

Since the word HE has been central in this chapter, allow me to end with two stories, where He u takes centre stage.
To be more precise, the two observations I made, both include the word HEUER.
During my overseas trip in Germany I picked up a (free) copy of the Spiegel Magazine. It was the 28th Edition, dated July 9th 2012.
The article where I saw Heuer is on Page 114:
DER SPIEGEL - Issue 28 - (Article on page 114, refers to Titlepage).
"Then new windows will open"
What Professor Rolf-Dieter Heuer was researching is beyond the average person's understanding. His institute in Switzerland discovered what the article calls the Higgs particle. When asked, if this means his research institute can soon close, the professor answered: "No, our work now begins to measure this find ... when we have the results and find conflicting evidence of our present theory, new windows into a new physics will open. Our so-called standard model only describes 4 to 5 percent of the Universe." (Translated from the German).
Isn't this interesting? May I ask, how the professor, or anybody, can specify how much they know of the universe? Nobody can make a statement of this kind, because nobody knows the size of the universe. It is vast, beyond all measure.
No human brain can comprehend the size of the universe, just like no human brain can comprehend the term eternity. How Professor Heuer needs wisdom - as does the whole world!
A few weeks later, this time while visiting Austria, the word Heuer stared at me from the front page of a newspaper.
Salzburg Daily (Newspaper) 15.8.12
The word Heuer in this case is an [Austrian] deviation of heute, meaning 'today'.
During my travels in the USA, as well as Europe, I was amazed as to how many people still smoked cigarettes. A person begging on the street, and smoking cigarettes at the same time, reminds me of the state of this world: Deceived by satan's lies, held prisoner, in desperate need of deliverance and real freedom through the power of Jesus.
Wisdom is free for all, who simply ask for it.
On final editing I noticed the similarity between SPIEGEL (above magazine) and SIEGEL. I had come across this name in a most unusual manner while writing these first 4 chapters. In the following chapter you will read about a spelling error, a missing n. It happened on Halloween, which makes it all that much more spooky.
While researching Chapter 4 I visited theskydeck.com the website of the tallest building in the USA (Until the new World Trade Centre). The word ecompassing did not look right. Should it not be spelled with n - encompassing?
I emailed skydeck.com and simply told them about it. The online form at the bottom included a security code, as many do. One of the two words was the word Scriptural.
Moving on with my writing I thought a moment later, should I not copy and paste this email into my text as reference for myself? (Unlike Outlook Express, when filling in an online form, there is no copy on your P/C). To have a record of the missing n spelling error discovery I pressed the reset button on theskydeck website, which was still open.
However, my email text had disappeared. Just before closing the window I noticed the security code words at the bottom of the blank online contact form - ROBERT SIEGEL.
Next, my good memory came into play. I had heard the name Robert Siegel many times over the years on radio. I googled the gentleman and found him on the website of NPR.
I had in the past smiled about the letters of the National Public Radio station, Public Relations for N.
Well, here I arrived at NPR after spotting a (missing) N - I had to email NPR: The program Mr. Siegel appears in is called 'All things considered'.
After sending this message I realized I had not considered all things. I had failed to tell them about the game I played with the name Siegel. I replaced Sie (German for you - the formal way to address someone) with an = Angel.
