News Update 31/05/03
Why all of this God?
I have chosen today's date for uploading the first News-update, because it is the anniversary of a tragedy that occurred in South Australia exactly 3 years ago. That fateful Wednesday evening a small plane crashed into St. Vincent Gulf killing all eight people on board. After lengthy investigations the cause of the misfortune was said to be a double engine failure, due to continuous running of the engines on lean fuel. Much speculation has circulated around South Australia since May 31st, 2000.
Three factors have been puzzling me in the last few months. One, the crash happened on a day with the numbers 153. Secondly, the name of the 21 year-old pilot was Ben and thirdly, the destination of the flight was a city in our state's north - Whyalla.
So what, you may ask? Almost daily for the past four years (ever since my first hospitalization in 1999) I have asked God, what is the purpose of all this? Those that have read my story and cared to notice the details, must also wonder, why the number 153 had become significant. Ben is one of my son's name, as well as that of two road crash victims in my story. The little word all became prominent by sheer fluke (I don't believe in co-incidences) two day's before the space shuttle Columbia burned up on re-entry on 1/2/03. All means "outer space" in German.
Does the answer to my questioning God lay somewhere outside of human understanding? Is God pointing HIS divine finger at this for a reason? I will continue to ask HIM why. One day HE will answer me.

God said - No.
In chapter 76 of my book "More in number than the sand" I expressed hope that one day I will see Steven, a man suffering from terminal cancer, be totally healed. He had been given 6 weeks to live in Dec. 2002. The Lord is sovereign. Steven passed away in Mid May. Our prayers are with his wife and 2 children. In chapter 67 I mention Steve's age wrongly as "late 30's". This should have been late 40's. My apologies.
God answers prayer. It may be yes, it may be no or HE is testing our faith and decides to let us wait. How do I know the difference between a no answer and a wait answer? Until I do, I keep praying. God knows best.

50 years since Everest
Last Thursday on 29/5 it was 50 years since the New Zealander Sir Edmund Hillary was the first person to climb Mt. Everest. This morning God led me to Psalm 125, Verse 1 which says: Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever. Had the writer known of Mt. Everest, he may have used that magic mountain as an example of God's unmovable nature.
The Lord led me to a New Testament scripture earlier in the week:
1 Thessalonians. 5, 3: For when they say "Peace and Safety" then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labour pain to a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.
Not only did I pay special attention because of the numbers, I noticed the words peace and safety. Those who have visited my other website and played crash 7 to the end www.driving-school.com.au/crashes.html will recognize the word peace. The word safety is part of my slogan: Your safety is driving PL us.
Chapters 4 and 5 of this letter from the Apostle Paul to the church in Thessalonica, Greece, deals with the second coming of our Saviour Jesus. Christians the world over are eagerly awaiting this huge event, that will overshadow all events taking place on earth.
No one knows the exact time of this event, except that it is going to happen; I believe very soon. Just like a pregnant woman knows that her baby's birth will take place soon. But she does not know exactly when.
To people who have accepted Christ as Saviour this news is music to their ears. Those who rejected him can expect destruction. This is not me speaking, it is God's Word.
